An Earth Temple
Our Garden
In 2010 I was traveling in Peru and Bolivia with a group of students learning Shamanic Sacred Ceremonies and rituals from the people of the mountains. I prayed to become a guardian of a piece of land and manifest my dream to create aTemple dedicated to Mother Earth.
A few months after my return, visiting a realtor friend in Woodstock in New York’s Catskill Mountains I found the property I was wishing for. The house was falling apart and needed a lot of work but the land area around was magnificent, rolling hills covered with trees, ferns and large boulders — a beautiful Oasis.
The rest took care of itself magically , the funds required for the purchase were manifested, the contractor came with his team of builders, and the renovation began. The land turned out to be more magical than I could imagine. Exactly a year later from Maria’s ceremony in Peru we celebrated the Summer Solstice on the Land that we named Olive Oasis for its location in the Town of Olive.
few years later I started to teach and lead ceremonies here with a group of priestesses. As we meditated, danced, and created rituals for healing for our individual life and the life around us, the “Earth Temple” was born. Out of our connections and deep listening to the Earth, seven circles and portals were opened in the Temple, each emanates different energy according to each chakra in our body.
Outdoor Garden Dedicated to Pachamama — Mother Earth
As you enter the Earth Temple you feel an immediate energy change and you are invited to walk an a path into an inward journey of connections and reverence for Mother Earth . Taking roots in Mother Earth and her unconditional love brings you back home to yourself as a natural being, part of the interconnected web of life. In this inward and outer journey one realizes that the inner and outer landscape is reflected in each other and that separation from Mother Earth and Nature causes us great suffering.
Within the Earth Temple environment you will find seven energetic circles corresponding to the Chakras in your body. One may choose to be alone or with a group, to be guided by a teacher or be still, lie under a tree, walk the stone paths, touch a tuft of moss, sit in silence and contemplation while feeling life force energy permeate all around, leaving you in deep relaxation and natural state of calm and well being.
“If we surrender to Earth’s intelligence we could rise up rooted, like trees.” — Rilke
