When life feels stormy, you have a “raft” you can return to at any moment: the felt support of the earth beneath you and the breath moving through you. These two allies calm the nervous system and bring you back to the present. The practice is to feel your weight, choose one place to sense the breath, and keep returning when the mind wanders. Add movement when energy feels stale—shaking, opening the chest, circling—while staying anchored in earth and breath. Beneath it all is a deeper invitation: to break old survival habits and become available to yourself by “mothering” through touch and love, and by honoring simple desires that restore life and tenderness.
