Module 14: Episode 2 - Befriending the body in Body Scan

· Core teaching: The practice invites you to befriend the body, before we enter the mediation of Body Scan. Approaching each inhale and exhale with the intention "I want to be your friend," and cultivating deeper awareness of physical sensation through sustained, compassionate attention.
· Guided scan sequence: through progressive awareness of:
o Breath and posture as a foundation
o The crown/top of the skull (referencing the fontanelle and crown chakra)
o The full skull, temples, and back of the head
o The face — jaw, lips, mouth, teeth, tongue, palate, eyes
o The forehead/third-eye area (between the eyebrows)
o The whole head as an integrated sensory receiver (sight, hearing, taste, smell)
o Neck, throat, shoulders, rib cage, and arms — scanning right side then left side, comparing sensations between the two (e.g., noticing asymmetries like one The transcript cuts off mid-scan, with attention having just reached the shoulders and upper rib cage/arms on both sides.
o This meditation takes you through the upper body only.
