Module 13: Episode 5 - Entering the body through the sense of touch
Dina Asher Kusnir
This meditation invites us to enter the body through the sense of touch. We begin by noticing the simple contact of the body sitting: the sit bones touching the chair, the feet touching the ground, the hands resting, the clothing touching the skin, and the air touching the face.
As awareness deepens, touch becomes a doorway into vulnerability. We remember that touch is one of our earliest senses — the way we first experienced being held, nourished, and met. The meditation gently brings attention to the vulnerable baby within, the part of us that may have received loving touch, missed touch, or confusing touch.
Through the practice, we return to two always-available sources of holding: Mother Earth beneath us and Mother Breath within us. The Earth touches and supports us from below; the breath touches us from the inside. In this way, the meditation becomes a healing practice of receiving support, softening into vulnerability, and allowing the body to feel held by life itself.
